Our fleet

Currently Eznis Airways operates scheduled and charter flights with four Saab 340B model aircrafts built in Sweden and two Avro RJ85 aircrafts built in United Kingdom.

Saab 340B aircraft

Sweden's SaabScania and the US's Fairchild began jointly producing the civil aircraft Saab 340B in 1983. Today the Saab 340B aircraft is used by 62 airline companies in 30 countries, including the US, Australia, Japan, Canada, the UK, New Zealand, Romania, Nepal and Mongolia. The Saab 340B aircraft is capable of flying in all conditions, from the harsh climates of Canada and Alaska to the rocky soil of the Coral Islands and mountainous Nepal. In addition these aircraft are equipped with powerful turboprop engines suitable for operations on gravel and paved runways. Since we first started operations with Saab 340B in 2006 we have completed over 5000 flights which is approximately 8000 hours. We believe this proves that Saab 340B suits ideally to Mongolia’s conditions.

Before bringing the Saab 340B aircraft to Mongolia, Eznis Airways had the following features added at Saab Aerotech to tailor the aircraft for climatic and operational conditions of Mongolia:
  • An automatic flight remote system, vitally important in today’s domestic flight conditions;
  • The latest TAWS (Terrain Awareness and Warning System) system;
  • Special protection tools to operate on gravel runways;
  • A complete heating system for winter operations

Avro RJ85 aircraft

The Avro RJ family of aircraft was built at the BAE Systems Regional Aircraft Centre. The Avro RJ transport jet was developed from the BAE 146 short to medium-range regional airliner.

The BAe146 together with its successor, the Avro RJ, is currently in service worldwide. Many of the operators are regional affiliates of mainline carriers such as Lufthansa and British Airways. Among the others are corporate and VIP operators such as Formula One and the Queen’s flight. Presently, sixty-one operators use 248 Avro RJ 85 aircraft in their services.

The outstanding performance, low environmental impact and optional steep approach capability of the Avro RJ allows unique access both to sensitive city centre airports and to remote, poorly equipped airfields with short strips. Moreover, it is the only jet engine aircraft approved for operation on gravel runways, which is ideal for the conditions of our country.

In addition to reliable and safe operations, Avro RJ certificated noise levels are among the quietest in their class. Furthermore, Avro RJ 85 aircraft has a spacious cabin layout with a seat pitch of 32 inch offering additional comfort for passengers.
